Hilary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party

After being impressed with Dinesh D’Souza’s Big Lie I decided I needed to read this book.  I’ve heard a lot about this book but hadn’t really wanted to read it.  Most of what this book talked about I knew already, however when I thought about reading it I thought that maybe this book would explain Nixon’s “Southern Strategy”.  It did explain that and it’s really opened my eyes about other things that have bothered me.

Basically this book explains the deplorable history of the Democrat Party and how it’s been rotten since it’s founding by the despicable Andrew Jackson.  Dinesh shows how Hilary profits by the same sins as ol’ Andrew did.  Both have become rich by profiting from their political offices.  Think about this Hilary and Andrew both became rich and were politicians their entire lives.  They didn’t invent anything.  They didn’t create a business or become a captain of industry.  They just profited off of their public offices, which is supposedly illegal but is, at the very least, immoral.

Andrew did it by breaking treaties with Indigenous Americans throwing them off their lands and then he and his cronies profited in shady land deals.  Hilary did it by marrying Bill Jefferson Clinton (BJ) and then together the pulled off all kinds of shady deals.  In Arkansas they profited by cattle futures and land investments.  When BJ was in the White House he sold all kinds of access, like dinners, overnights in the White House and by putting their friends into lucrative government positions like the travel office.  Then they lied about what they did and the progressive praetorian press gave them cover.  When they left the White House they stole stuff that belonged to the US like dinner ware, furniture, paintings etc.  They took around $600,000 worth and said it was theirs.  However, they were forced to return it but kept $200,000 of it.  After they left office they were both given huge advances on books (both of which sucked and the publishers lost a lot of money on them.  Especially Hilary’s.) and BJ started giving speeches for enormous fees.  Most presidents do this, it’s expected, but most don’t have a wife who is a senator in NY.  Can you say conflict of interest.  BJ’s been giving a lot more speeches for longer and for higher fees than any other presidents.  If other presidents were doing it I’d have heard of it.  All you hear is the one or two really big fees the Bush’s and Reagan gave right after they left office, nothing like BJ.  Then BJ and Hilary set up their shake down racket, called the Clinton Foundation while BJ was president with the idea that they could sell favors of a future senator and president — I mean to help “strengthen the capacity of people in the US and throughout the world to meet the challenges of global interdependence.”  Ha.  If you believe that your a complete idiot.  I was going to say a member of the praetorian press, a hardcore democrat, or a friend of BJ, but all those people know how crooked the Clinton’s are they just cover for them.

Andrew, Hilary and BJ are not the only politicians that do this.  LBJ did it.  Harry Reid did it.  Those are the two that come immediately to mind.  Both Democrats.  I’m sure there might be a few Republicans that have done it, but they can’t do it at such levels.  If a Republican does something that a Democrat can get away with the press forces them to leave office.  It’s more than just the press, the Republicans have morals so when the press starts making a stink about a Republican the party forces them to resign and doesn’t give them cover.

The book goes into a lot more detail about this, and give many more examples.  It shows how the Democrats have been responsible for all the things that are supposedly “America’s” sins.  Slavery, Jim Crow Segregation laws that denied basic civil rights like voting.  The Klu Klux Klan and lynching.  Throwing the Indigenous Americans off their land and committing genocide against them.  The euthanasia movement and laws passed.  Denying Jewish refugees entrance before WWII, the internment of Japanese.  All done by Democrats, and while they were committing these heinous acts they were opposed by the Republicans. 

For my whole life I’ve known a lot of these facts, and I’ve known that most blacks continue to vote for Democrats despite the fact that their situations don’t improve.  If fact if you read Walter  Williams and Thomas Sowell the Democrats and the Welfare State have destroyed the African American family and created a terrible culture.  When I’ve asked why this is I’ve been told that in 1968 Nixon and the Republicans developed the “Southern Strategy” and appealed to the racist southerners and they all magically switched from Democrats to Republicans and I accepted it.  Why did I accept it?  I’ll tell you and I’ll explain why the Southern Strategy is a progressive lie.

After the despicable Democrats tried to destroy the US by seceding from the US so they could continue keeping slaves and fought a war so they could continue oppressing the slaves, they were disappointed, obviously, with the results of the war.  They then decided that they would keep African Americans oppressed through legal means.  The Republicans — a party created to oppose slavery — saw what the Democrats wanted to do and they passed the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments that would guarantee the African Americans their rights as citizens.  These are often referred to as the completion of the Constitution.  However the Democrats ignored these and created a system of Jim Crow laws that denied African Americans their rights.  They also developed a militant arm called the Ku Klux Klan.  These racist Democrats were mainly in the South.  There was another movement called progressivism that started arising mainly in the North.  This movement was a result of the Enlightenment and it generally thought that humans and society could progress and improve through science.  These people were big on Social Darwinism.  The heroes of this movement were people like John Dewy and Margaret Sanger.  Modern progressives use the praetorian press and the educational system to distort the truth and present these people as heroes but if you read this book and do a little research it’s not hard to find out what kind of people they were and the ideas they espoused.

In 1913 Teddy Roosevelt ran as a third party candidate — the Bull Moose Party — and split the Republican vote.  This allowed a Progressive Democrat Woodrow Wilson, to be elected.  Woodrow was from the South originally, but had moved North and and became a progressive intellectual eventually becoming President of Yale.  When he was elected he was considered more of a Northern Progressive Democrat, but he proved true to his roots.  Since the Civil War the Federal Government been desegregated but Woodrow segregated the Federal Government and Armed Services.  Nice guy.  He also screened the first moving picture show in the White House “The Birth of a Nation” which was a dramatization of the heroic Ku Klux Klan.  While it’s not in the book ol’ Woodrow had this to say “The white men were roused by a mere instinct of self-preservation...until at last there had sprung into existence a great Ku Klux Klan, a veritable empire of the South, to protect the Southern Country.”  With this kind of support the Ku Klux Klan experienced fantastic growth throughout the country.  Enough so that at the 1928 Democratic Convention 10,000 Clansmen marched in New York City and it was called the great Klan Bake.  Way to go Democrats.

The great Progressive Democratic hero Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) wasn’t a known Ku Klux Klan member but he appointed a Klansman as a Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black to help him get legal cover for his socialistic experiments.  He also kept the Democrats from having an anti-lynching plank in the Democratic Platform while he was president and helped keep anti-lynching legislation proposed by the Republicans from being voted on.  He knew he needed the support of the Racist Democrats to stay in power.  So the Progressive and Racist Democrats colluded so that African Americans could continue to be oppressed and lynched.  While doing these great deeds FDR also would not allow Jewish refugees fleeing the Nazi’s into  the US, and when the war started put Japanese citizens into concentration camps.

The sad thing about this was that the Great Depression hit the poorest people the hardest.  Everyone remembers the dust bowl and the Okies going west.  Well the poor African Americans in the South were also hard hit, and they started voting Democrat at this time since they were getting some relief from FDRs Great Society.  So they were in the unenviable position of voting for the party that supported the Ku Klux Klan and lynching because they were helping them economically.  They did this even though many of the programs of the Great Society were racist in their implementation.  How’s that for ironic?

Lastly we come to the final Progressive Democratic Hero.  Lyndon B. Johnson (LBJ).  After WWII the South could see that things were going to change.  There was a split in the Democratic Party and a group of Dixiecrats broke away who supported segregation.  They ran a third party and this helped elect Eisenhower.  Other Democrats were racist but stayed in the Party.  There were also Progressive Northern Democrats who were not racist.  I believe John F Kennedy (JFK) was on of these.  After the election of Eisenhower the Dixiecrats came back into the party.  LBJ was forced on JFK so that he could help carry the south.  JFK and LBJ despised each other.

JFK started the second round of Civil Rights legislation in the early 1960’s.  These were laws designed to reinforce the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments that were passed by Republicans, which the Democrats had basically ignored and gutted.  After JFK was killed LBJ was able to see that something needed to be done to save the Democratic Party.  In a conversation with Senator Richard Russell of Georgia LBJ said “These niggers, they’re getting pretty uppitty these days and that’s a problem for us since they got something now that they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness.  Now we’ve got to do something about this, we’ve got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference.”  Otherwise, Johnson concluded, blacks may start voting Republican and “it’ll be Reconstruction all over again.”  Nice guy LBJ.  So LBJ needed to pass the Civil Right Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and to do it he needed to have Republicans, because the former Dixiecrats were trying their best to filibuster the legislation.  There were a few Northern Democrats who voted for these acts, and few Republicans who voted against them.  However, if the Republicans voted with the same percentage as the Democrats then the acts would not have passed.  So once again it was the Republicans that supported the African Americans and made sure they had their rights.  There were a lot of Democrats that did everything in their power to make sure that the blacks stayed in their place, and Dinesh lists them, but my favorite two have always been the sanctimonious father of the sanctimonious Al Gore Jr — Al Gore Sr.  And J. William Fulbright of the  Fulbright Fellowship fame.  So it was Democrat Governors like Wallace that stood in the doorways of colleges, and Democratic Sheriffs like Bull Connors who attacked protestors that did everything they could to keep blacks down, and Republicans that passed legislation to support them and a Republican President who sent in troops to help enforce the rulings of the Supreme Court.

So in 1968 the South was changing.  It was less rural, more industrialized, becoming less racist and Nixon and the Republicans realized that they could appeal to this rising middle class voters on prosperity and economic opportunity.  If Nixon had made any racist appeals to these voters he would have ruined his appeal to the rest of the nation.  There is no record of Nixon ever saying anything racist like LBJ and a lot of evidence that he always supported Civil Rights.  With this approach Nixon was able to carry the Upper Southern States and win the Presidency.  Governor Wallace ran as a third party candidate that year on a segregation platform and he carried the Deep South States of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia.  So much for a racist Southern Strategy carried out by the Republicans.

So despite all this history and evidence we’re supposed to believe that after 100 years suddenly the Republicans went against type and started supporting things they’d always been against?  Why does anyone believe this?  Why did I meekly accept it?  Well the Democrats realize what an appalling record that they had historically and that they couldn’t get anyone to vote for them if people knew.  Luckily they have a progressive praetorian press and educational  system that is willing to lie and say that the black is white, and that the Republicans all became racist homophobic anti-Semities in 1968 while the despicable Democrats suddenly saw the light and have became the good guys.  The amazing thing about his is how many people believe it.  I know that I grew up believing it because it was what I was told by the press and taught by TV growing up and there were not a lot of alternate sources where a young skull full of mush like myself could find the truth.  Nobody really had an option.  We just believed the lies and distortions that were fed to us by Walter Concrite and the rest.

This is a good book.  It puts together a lot of information and presents it well.
